I got this ratcheting screwdriver because of the size and the price. I’d always used my friend’s craftsman (which has the same clk/ccw selection apparatus) and I loved it, but I wasn’t willing to shell out 30 bucks for ascrewdriver. This driver rocks my socks off! the handle fits my hand perfectly, the shaft length is great (everything else on amazon in this price range seemed too short), and the magnetic bit locking system works so well… it actually locks the bits in!

The bits that coms with the driver are the same quality as the dewalt bits that I’ve got, and the handle actually stores up to 8 bits internally (so you can add some of your own as this only comes with 6). I actually like this better than the craftsman, and think it’s going to make the greatest stocking stuffer this coming christmas.

Bottom line: If you’re looking for a ratcheting screwdriver, this is the one for you. It’s durable, functional and comfortable!

    UPDATE:
I have now had this screwdriver for over a year and still use it almost daily. The “locking” function has broken, but the magnet is strong enough that losing bits isn’t a problem.

For christmas my wife got me the Kobalt dual action ratcheting screwdriver (at $20!). As good as kobalt is and as nice as its features are, the Stanley feels more solid. The handle holds bits in seperate columns (whereas the Kobalt just has a hollow handle with no possibility of orginization) and the magnet in the tip for holding the bit in use is much stronger.

This screwdriver has proven that it’s durable, versatile and comfortable. I just ordered more to give out to my buddies when they come over to help me with my car. Still five stars strong!

I’m a 67 year old grandmother who gets pretty involved in do-it-yourself projects, everything from rewiring a lamp to putting in a new wainscoated bathroom. This screwdriver is a godsend. I always have the right bit now to do almost all jobs without having to search around for a particular screwdriver, so I no longer have all those different drivers cluttering up my toolbox. At my age, with a bit of arthritis starting to effect me, this driver is much easier on my wrist because I don’t have to continuously change my grasp. The only drawback, and it is a minor one, is that the bits are sometimes a bit difficult to remove from the storage handle, again, a result of the arthritis, I’m sure. All in all, This driver is a very good value for the non-professional. It is now the only screwdriver I use.

I originally purchased a computer repair tool kit, came with screw driver, bits, tweezers, anti-static strap, electrical tape, mini screw driver set, pliers, etc.

the screw driver was ok quality, but too much plastic to really last. i tried to replace it with a cheapo plastic one, that lasted 1 month (though i was using it when installing my Acura TL A-Spec lip kit, which i was putting a large amount of pressure when popping off tabs).

this one is EXTREMELY HIGH QUALITY. solid components internally, with a plastic/rubber handle.

    whats included:
    the driver
the base storage piece that twist and locks into the handle
    (2) philips bit (PH2, PH1)
    (2) flat head bits (1/8, 1/4)
    (2) square bits (R1 and R2)

    features:
you can adjust the ratchet to tighten, loosen, or not ratchet at all
the base of the handle twist open for bit storage
there are 3 extra storage slots (if you keep 1 bit in the screw driver)
locking tip, so it will not come out when working at weird angles or when the bit decides to get stuck in a screw. you have to slide the black piece at the end of the driver back to remove or insert the bit.

    Cons:
i honestly cant think of any real ones, maybe include the 3 more tips that the handle can store?

I was so impressed with the quality of this driver for my home kit i bought a 2nd for my office. I am a System Administrator and every so often i find myself inside a computer replacing hard drives, this is the perfect tool for my drawer.

i am a very smart shopper, i searched everywhere for this unit and amazon does have the best price if you get the super save shopper discount.
