This is a great hammer. It is well constructed and very durable. I use it around the house for all my projects that need the use of a hammer. It also was a great price from Amazon.

I received this pound hammer a few minutes ago. The head’s diameter is approx. 1 1/16th” and it isn’t totally flat; it has 5/16th inch depression that runs along the lower periphery, which is almost an inch long. I suspect that could be a problem when you strike a nail, which I haven’t yet done. The grip, which resembles the treads on a tire is uncomfortable and I suspect that after handling the tool for a while, you could end up with those tire tread indentations on your hand. It doesn’t match up to my old hammer, which had a similar design, but it had no uncomfortable treads and it was well forged and nicely balanced, including standing up nicely on its head; this Tekton hammer stands, but not as well. Unfortunately, someone borrowed my old hammer without my permission. So, I give the Tekton three stars because it was cheap ($8.11) and it can still be useful for hitting something or to pry a crate open with the claws.

I ordered this hammer, thinking that it would be the perfect size for me, seeing as how I’m shorter and smaller than many people on this earth, and it was! It’s comfortable, has a good balance to it, is well-made, and of course, hammers things in. Since the hammer is a smaller size, it saves space, too and in my apartment, I need all the storage I can get.

I purchased this hammer for my 4-year old son who enjoys trying to assist me during repairs around the house. He also likes to attend free weekend construction projects at one of those big home improvement box stores. Now he has his own light-weight hammer to use.

The hammer has good balance and a nice comfortable grip. It’s probably slightly heavier than what I would give a 4-year old to use, but he’ll have it for many years and will grow into it.

The price was outstanding and, with combined shipping on Amazaon, I couldn’t pass it up. All in all, I would recommend this hammer for kids who are into craft/construction projects, or for anyone who needs a hammer for light-weight projects.
