I ordered this drill guide because of my excellent experience with the Standard version. My review of that Guide follows.

I have used several drill guides. This one seems the most convenient and useful of the several I own.

Upon receipt I tested it by drilling holes in a 3/8″ dowel. I clamped the jig to the dowel. The resulting holes were absolutely perpendicular to the dowel.

I was so satisfied that I ordered the metric drill guide even though I only infrequently use metric drill bits.

    I recommend this jig.

The only reservation I might have is that given its small size, it may be easy to misplace. But, that is the fault of the user not the tool. 🙂

For anyone who has tried to trust their ever aging eyeballs and sense of ‘what level is’ when drilling freehand, these babies fall into the category of “Why didn’t I think of this…I’d never have to work again!”.(this includes both the metric and Imperial versions).

They’re priced right, made well, include what I hope is long lasting etchings of drill size and centering lines, and with some know how can be used in more applications than the manufacturer touts in their product description.

One hint though…make sure these puppies are clamped to whatever it is you’re drilling and don’t depend on hand strength to keep the bit from walking. That would be YOUR failure, not the designers of this handy little tool box Must Have.

My Dad used something similar from Stanley. Stanley quit selling it.! It is the next best thing to having a drill press. It keeps the drill square with whatever you are drilling. Being portable makes it better in some cases than using a drill press. You don’t have the restrictions of space either so you can use it anywhere.
I bought all three that were available.
